Nearly a Year

Curiously, in reviewing information available on the Provident Living site, something caught my attention - February 2007.
"We encourage Church members worldwide to prepare for adversity in life by having a basic supply of food and water and some money in savings.

"We ask that you be wise as you store food and water and build your savings. Do not go to extremes; it is not prudent, for example, to go into debt to establish your food storage all at once. With careful planning, you can, over time, establish a home storage supply and a financial reserve."
—The First Presidency, All Is Safely Gathered In: Family Home Storage, Feb. 2007, 1

I've visited Provident Living many, many times ... and do a lot of reading there. Somehow, the fact that we should be establishing a 3 month plan for family food storage has eluded me for an entire year. I've a lot of catching up to do!

Getting Started

The first post on a new blog!

I'd like to encourage everyone to participate on this blog and also, if you would be interested in being an author on here, send me a note. Hopefully, a community full of ideas for starting and maintaining a three month supply of food items will grow and benefit all of us and help us along this food storage journey.
